Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is a beautiful gem just blocks from the edge of downtown Chicago. With nearby neighborhood pub, organic grocery and plenty of independently owned shops and spots to eat- there's everything from Starbucks to a bike rental station, buses, and subway ("L" stop) within a quick walk. The stunning architectural beauty of this neighborhood might look familiar as it has been featured in countless movies and television spots. (The church down the block was used in the recent Transformers movie also.) Irish Nobleman Pub across the street is a picturesque pub with rich dark wood throughout (and highly rated food!) that's also been filmed. It boasts quick & easy access to the highways, close proximity to (and to transportation to) festivals & events such as Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, McCormick place, United Center, Wrigley Field, Lake Michigan, and more- pretty much no more than 10-15min from EVERYTHING β€’ Being able to access the rest of Chicago quickly and easily β€’ Walking distance to the West Loop and Wicker Park but far enough away to be its own quiet enclave in the middle of everything. Residents will never be short of things to do in this neighborhood and will enjoy short commutes to the Loop. Up on Randolph Street, there are world-class restaurants that people from all over the city flock to, and there are old buildings and warehouses that have been refurbished into premier dining spots. Just blocks away, there is Wicker Park, River North, Little Italy, Greek Town and the Loop. River West also houses the United Center (Stadium), home of the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bulls, and many large concerts through the year.

Getting Around

We are close to I90, and 290- just a few blocks to access the expressway. Parking is pretty easy for being so close to downtown. No permit required and it's all free street parking all around the building. (Except directly in front of our building there is one small patch that is permit only) We live in the building next door and have very rarely had any issue with parking (only if there is some type of construction, street cleaning, or event.) There is a neighborhood pub across the street with a locally sourced scratch kitchen and awesome burgers (Irish Nobleman Pub), a corner convenient store at the end of our block along with a highly rated Cuban sandwich shop (Nini's Deli), about a block further there is a small organic grocery with higher end wine/beer also (Green Grocer) a highly rated Italian restaurant (called Bella Notte Ristorante ) and a quick service burger joint/gyros, etc. A breakfast spot is about a block further (The Breakfast Club.) You can do a quick google search for these places to get a better feel. A couple blocks the opposite direction puts you on Chicago Ave or Milwaukee Ave which both have shops, restaurants, a large park (with the skyline in the background), dry cleaner, wine shop, and more. There is also a bike rental station 2 blocks away (next to a Starbucks) and a quick walk to the "L" train too.
